Epoxy Coating

Epoxy Coating

This method is used on horizontal surfaces to remove deposits or coatings and to reduce surface smoothness. Before coating, honour all expansion or isolation joints — do not coat over them. Fill with appropriate flexible or semi-rigid joint material after coating installation. Saw cuts, cracks, or control joints can be filled and coated if in a temperature-controlled environment.

Application Method

Concrete Primer is a modified two-component epoxy resin-based primer. The system comprises an epoxy resin combined with a suitable catalyst, providing excellent adhesion to the surface. Application can be done by brush for optimum penetration. Allow the primer to dry before applying screed or self-leveling coating.

Major undulations, potholes, and floor damages should be repaired using approved instant-floor-repair material for achieving an even surface level, especially for old concrete floors. The epoxy coating can be applied using a trowel blade or notched trowel, followed by deaeration using a spiked roller.
